Site Suggestions

As I said in the chat, I was thinking that instead of having so many forums under one category, we could make some topics or subforums and put them into a forum, such as "____ Camp" as a forum, and put the different dens and areas in it as topics, and "____ Territory" and put the different areas in it as topics or subforums. That way, everything could be a little less crowded.

I think there should be a census under "Site Announcements" which is located on the left side of the screen. That one can count all female and male cats total. When the allegiances are made, a census should be at the top/bottom of each clan's page. That one can only count the number of males and females in each clan.

I think that's a really neat suggestion, @shadow! I was actually thinking that this place needed a pop-out census of sorts.

EDIT BECAUSE SUGGESTIONS -

1) Make the images on the right side clickable.
--- For the staff, you should be able to click the image and be directed to the staff's profile.
--- For the characters, you should be able to click and be linked to the character's bio.
It helps new users work out who roleplays the high characters. It also makes it easier for users to contact staff.

2) Enable users to post links. Currently the forum's settings are set so that accounts less than one week cannot post. This is frustrating for members like myself who are wanting to add images and make templates. You can edit this by going to the admin panel and under security (here's a screenshot taken from somewhere else) -- It's the first function.

NOTE - You'll need to add the .png to the link as I had to remove it.

3) Is there a HP max rule? I currently don't see anywhere that there's a maximum HP rule? May I advice enforcing one if there is currently not one. From my experience, users (generally staff) who control multiple HP's make the roleplaying very unfair for other members. Especially if those users don't 'kill' off their HP often.

4) This isn't a suggestion, more a question...What does EFS stand for? xD

5) ADD SOME AFFILIATES! These are amazing. Honestly. I can totally understand being wary about having other forums listed on your site. But, it's probably the best way to increase forum traffic and gain new members. As well as advertising of course. Plus those top forum rp's and stuff? Those directories? They're good too. You have the board but there's no... 'Spot' for them?? xD


6) Potentially shrinking the width of the forum. Just a little bit as currently it can appear a bit awkward on some devices. For example, right now...You have to scroll to see the images and it makes the forum appear a bit clunky. Just a little bit on the width would fix that. Like maybe.. I dunno, 50px?

7) Change the new members colour - maybe slightly darker. It's a bit hard to read.

Global mods are 'higher' ranked than regular moderators. So you may want to change the ordering of this on the legend as it makes it appear global mods are lesser than regular mods.


Sorry there's a lot here. But, I'm just trying to see what more could be potentially added to make this place a bit easier. :3

1) As I personally like this and do agree with the whole easier to access profiles and contact staff easier this shouldn't be a problem. I believe we had this once on the older site so thank you for the reminder.

2) I saw your message in the chatbox from last night and tried fixing it. However, I'll give it another shot! Otherwise I have been working on this.

3) We do have a HP max rule! I don't know if I specified or forgot to add it, but the max characters is up to two HP. After that you can't have anymore until you kill off one of your HP. I personally don't think medicine cats are high ranks so they aren't counted.

As of right now VultureClan is in need of a new leader, I realize that I would be too busy taking care of the site to be actively rping as the leader of VultureClan. I just haven't set the additions up yet for the new Clan leader. I also have to figure out what to do with Ravenstar and when to change her name. I hope this helps!

4) E.F.S should really be E.F.A which means Excuse Of Absence. This might have been a typo on my part. Apologies for the confusion!

5) I was slowly getting to this, I just have been a little backed up with other stuff. But I agree that advertising and affiliating are good traffic ways to our site.

6) I had no idea that it looked wonky. I'm currently using my mobile device as I don't have a working computer, but I'll take your word for it. Can you show me some more screen shots so I can get a better idea of how to fix it? Thank you for bringing this to my attention!

If you are unsure how to do certain tasks - I'm more than happy to direct you, or advice you as to how to do various things. I have had experience on both forumotion, proboards, jcink and webs. So if something is ever not working, I could try and give you tips.

-- Posting: If both of those requirements are set to 'no', it should work. This will allow new members like myself to post and also guests to post links and urls for advertising/affiliating purposes. If both requirements are set to 'no' and it still does not work, perhaps you ought to see the forumotion support services. But, it should work.

It's not majorly too large. But, it does cut some of the images off on the right side just slightly. Just reducing it by like 5% should do the trick. (apologies, I thought before it was in px, but it's in percentages).

Thank you for the advice. As of right now you should be able to post external links. I'll update you on the things I have changed when the are done.

@Butterfly, maybe if you could do a grammar and error check through all the board's/post's? This would be very helpful to me since I'm busy trying to get things done and sometimes I just don't have time to go back and edit. If you could help then it would be one less thing I would need to do. Also you may begin to roleplay, I've been meaning to ignite roleplay, but I have been busy with other stuff. Again thank you for actually taking time to do this if you do do it!

So, in the chatbox, it's been brought up that perhaps borders between the clans and the loner/rogue territories should be made. We figured it'd help create some plot and drama. Not to mention, it'd also made sense because clans did share borders with the lands. c:

Well i'm thinking that it should be kind of like in a circle, that way it boarders with all the clans. So it's kinda like this. The Four stones and moonpool in the center with Hawkclan, Eagleclan, Vultureclan, and Owlclan surrounding them and the kittypet and rouge area surround the clans. That's how I was thinking of it.

If anyone here is artistic, you could create a map?
I'd offer, but.. Unfortunately, my map attempts haven't been the best.
