Valérie laid in her favorite windowsill, her tail flicking back and forth contentedly. She glanced over her shoulder, waiting for her owners to arrive and let her outside. Sure, there was plenty of space to laze about indoors, but it wasn't as pleasant as the outdoors. Licking the soft fur of her chest, the angora sat up, the bell on her collar jingling delicately. Her rather large ears perked upon hearing noise outside; the usual noise that sounded before her twolegs returned. Letting out a happy "Mrrow!", the she-cat sprang down from her perch and headed to the door. Meowing, she sat down and waited for her owners to come in.
After a moment, the door opened, and a couple along with their teenaged son and daughter came in, chattering happily. Valérie let out a loud meow, alerting them of her presence. After rubbing across the legs of the younger girl, the twoleg picked up the small she-cat and carried her to the back of the house, stroking her. Val purred, relaxing in the arms of her owner. The girl proceeded to open the back door that led into the backyard of the mansion, and set the feline down.
The said she-cat bounded through the grass, her collar jingling with each movement, alerting every bird and rodent of her arrival. She chased after a squirrel, though it quickly darted up a tree. Val had no intentions of going after it. Instead, she glanced towards the fence and strode towards it. With a leap, she perched on top of it, laying down and glancing across the other yards. 'Perhaps Beau will come today?' Valérie wondered, resting her head on her paws and flicking her tail. He hadn't visited in a while; she missed her brother's company, and was rather worried for him. She knew the rogue life was dangerous - especially in a city.

Quinton leapt over small rocks. The kittypet tom had lately been leaving his housefly much lately, and he enjoyed the cool, fresh breeze of the outside. The tomcat didn't notice Valérie in the distance, lounging around as a kittypet would most likely do. The grey-and-white kittypet tom licked a paw as he curled up, ready for a pounce. He caught just a slow-moving, leisurely mouse. Nonetheless, Quinton was proud. With a single blow, the tomcat killed the tiny rodent.

Quinton then heard a soft meow come from near by. He whirled around, just to see a fluffy white she-cat hanging around not far away. He dipped his head curtly, but said nothing to her.

Valérie noticed a movement on the other side of her fence. She lifted her head up somewhat, flicking her ears. She observed a gray-and-white tomcat as he caught a mouse successfully. Her whiskers twitched somewhat in interest. She could tell that he was a kittypet; however, she never associated them with successful hunting. Val then just figured he must've been outside quite often, and had lots of practice. When he nodded towards her, the she-cat tilted her head. "... Bonjour, cher. Nice catch you have, zhere," she purred, her voice thick with an accent. It was normal for her to strike up a conversation with a tom; or anyone, really. She enjoyed company, since she was now the only cat in the house. Sure, the twolegs played with her, and pet her, but they weren't the same as a fellow cat.

Quinton's ears perked up and he raised his head to see the she-cat. He spoke quietly, and though his voice had a bit of an accent, it was light. "Oh. G'day." He said, padding up a little towards the she-cat, and stretching a little ways away from a silvery-grey trash can. Those were rather hard to avoid. The tomcat blinked bright, yet paler blue around the middle, eyes, while looking at Valérie. "You live with housefolk, am I right? You ain't a forest cat?" He asked in a flurry of questions, though it sounded gentle rather than cornering. His tail waved high in the air, white with blotches of differently hued grey.

Valérie curiously looked over the tom as he approached, tilting her head. Her long, plumy tail hung off the fence and flicked back and forth as she sat up, looking down at the male. She noticed he had a bit of an accent; different than the accents of the cats who lived in the city. Her eyes gleaming, Val mewed in reply, "Oui. I have lived wizh zhem all my life. I wouldn't dream of living as a forest cat." Her brother spoke very highly of living as a rogue or a loner, but she had never really thought very highly of that sort of life. It was dangerous, and Val enjoyed her safe, content life as a kittypet. Licking her paw, Valérie then purred, "I am Valérie. What's your name, monsieur?"

Quinton sat down, getting more comfortable with the white she-cat before him. A wreathe of long fur around his neck made it look like a feathery mane, but it truly wasn't all that long. "Name's Quinton," the tomcat said with a purr and a small smile. "Nice to meet ya." Quinton dipped his head with courtesy, respect and greeting, and then stretched out in his spot a bit. His patchy grey-and-white fur looked like a storm on a winter day, and his eyes were a mystical crystalline blue. He was rather glad she wasn't a forest cat, as he feared their ways. He believed that they were somewhat vile, but he had also seen sophisticated gatherings from their makings. He added a small nod for seemingly to particular reason, other than to move a bit.
